Our 5-year workmanship warranty covers peeling of paint caused by improper surface preparation or application on areas painted by Refined Painting. If a covered issue occurs, we provide the labor and materials needed to repair the affected area at no cost to you.

Q: When does the 5-year warranty period begin?

The warranty period begins on the completion date of the work performed. This ensures coverage applies to the finished project and reflects how the paint performs under normal use over time.

Q: What types of paint failures are not covered by the warranty?

The warranty does not cover issues caused by factors outside of workmanship, including failure of old or underlying paint layers, internal moisture problems, rust, mildew or mold, tannin bleed, fine cracking or “alligatoring,” or environmental conditions that affect the surface after painting.

Q: Are decks, railings, or other horizontal surfaces covered?

No. Horizontal surfaces—including decks, railings, porches, stairs, roofs, and gutters—are excluded from the warranty due to exposure, wear, and conditions beyond paint application control.

Q: Does the warranty apply to surfaces not painted by Refined Painting?

No. The warranty only applies to areas painted by Refined Painting. We cannot be responsible for surfaces painted by previous contractors or damage caused by other trades after our work is completed.

Q: Will repaired areas perfectly match the original paint color?

Exact color matching cannot be guaranteed due to natural weathering and aging of the original coating. However, we make every effort to achieve the closest possible match during warranty repairs.

Q: How long do warranty repairs take once an issue is reported?

If a warranty claim is approved, repairs will be scheduled and completed within a 12-month period starting from the date of notification, depending on conditions and availability.

Q: Is damage caused by moisture or structural movement covered?

No. The warranty does not cover bubbling, peeling, or failure caused by internal moisture, structural movement, warping materials, or environmental factors beyond surface preparation and application.

Q: What should I do if I think I have a warranty issue?

Contact our team as soon as you notice a concern. We’ll review the issue, inspect the affected area, and determine whether it falls under warranty coverage. Our goal is to resolve valid concerns clearly and professionally.

Q: What does “Guaranteed Satisfaction” mean?

Guaranteed satisfaction means we complete a final walkthrough and customer sign-off before closing out any project. If something doesn’t meet expectations at completion, we address it promptly—we don’t consider the job finished until you’re satisfied.

While we stand behind our workmanship, certain conditions and surfaces are not covered under this warranty. These exclusions exist because they are outside the control of surface preparation or paint application.

This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied.

Failure of old or underlying paint layers
Stained surfaces
Horizontal surfaces, including (but not limited to): Decks, Railings, Porches, Stairs, Roofs, Gutters
Areas not painted by Refined Painting LLC
Damage caused by other trades or contractors

Vinyl siding or vinyl windows
Painted materials that warp after painting
Issues caused by: Mildew or mold, Internal moisture, Rust, Tannin bleed, Fine cracking or “alligatoring” of old paint
Any failure related to environmental or structural conditions beyond paint application
